Wellington West

Wellington’s western suburbs stretch across the city foothills from Karori through to Khandallah. There are a wide range of housing options in the western suburbs, but demographically the area is dominated by family groups.

Typical hillside Wellington roads snake their way into Northland, Ngaio and Khandallah. The surroundings are usually lush and green and most homes have well proportioned gardens that allow for plentiful outdoor living.

If you’re lucky you might get a view across Wellington Harbour or the city. If you face the other way you’re very likely to catch the last rays of the west setting sun.

Many live in the western suburbs and travel to the city each day for work via the regular and efficient bus and commuter train services. Those that prefer a quieter life can choose from rural lifestyle options in Makara or Ohariu Valley
